Jonathan Homier has the spark for the world of the bar at age 17 during his studies in food service management at the Institut de Tourisme et d’Hôtellerie du Québec (ITHQ). For Jonathan, the bar offers the perfect balance between cooking and serving. It allows to offer a customer service from A to Z. It’s an ideal option that incorporates the creative and manual aspect of the kitchen as well as the customer contact of the service. A complete experience, from greeting the customer, to the creation of a cocktail to his taste and his reaction to the drink.
Jonathan gathers his multi-faceted experience from working in different entreprises, from the nightclub to the five-star hotel. He also regularly participates successfully in many bartender competitions. For instance, in 2012, he wins the Canadian Finals of the Appleton Estate Bartenders Challenge and represented Canada at the World Finals in Jamaica.
In 2013, he opens the B1 Cocktail Club and continues still to participate in competitions across Canada, such as Vancouver's Diageo World Class, Beefeater MIXLDN, Bols Around The World and Made With Love. In 2014, he adds another string to his bow and becomes a brand ambassador for Blended Scotch Johnnie Walker. The following year, he acted as Bar Chef for the second edition of the Montréal cocktail week, Invasion Cocktail. He later wins the regional Gray Goose Pour Masters finals and faced other Canadian bartenders in Bordeaux in the presence of the Cellar Master of the prestigious French vodka house.
That same year, Jonathan is chosen as the first brand ambassador for Jack Daniel's Tennessee Whiskey in Québec and is part of an elite team with three other ambassadors to Canada. He travels Canada and the United States for nearly three years, to give a new impulse to the reputation of the first American whiskey. Now Bar Chef at Perles et Paddock, Jonathan uses techniques and inspirations collected during 10 years of competitions and trips to develop a bar program on the scale of world class Québec and Canadian gastronomy.
